On Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September 2016, discover the channel system behind the Canal du Midi as devised 350 years ago by its creator Pierre Paul Riquet of Béziers.
Enthusiasts and professionals of the canal (cartographer, storyteller, photographer, museum …) will help you understand the genius of Riquet and how his creation fonctions. Whether you prefer walking, cycling, motorbike, car or boat, the best paths on the 65 km of channel, between the source and the canal, have been identified.
The weekend activities include guided tours, exhibitions and conferences.

- Saturday : Prise d’eau d’Alzeau / Saint Ferréol

- All day : 9 hours unaccompanied and at your own pace:

- Hiking : sections of 3km to 8km between Alzeau and Saint Ferréol, Saint Ferréol Garden and lake (Basin)
- Cycling: Alzeau to Saint Ferréol
- Car or motobike : Alzeau to Saint Ferréol
- Lunch: picnic or restaurant: see the providers on the map or with the guide for those horse riding
- 16:00 : Canal du Midi museum and garden tour
- 18:00 : Conference on the Baron de Bonrepos’ channels and opportunity to mingle with other enthusiasts
